McHenry County Illinois Genealogical Society

2016 Summer Genealogy Road Trip:
Wisconsin Historical Society & Archive in Madison, WI

In partnership with the Algonquin Area Public Library, we are thrilled to bring back a long time tradition at MCIGS - a Bus Trip to the Wisconsin Historical Society & Archive in Madison, Wisconsin.  Those of you who have been up to Madison on previous trips know what a treasure trove it is for genealogists.  For those of you who haven't been to Madison before, what are you waiting for?

Come spend a full day researching your ancestors in one of the largest genealogical collections in the U.S.  After arrival, we will have a short 30 minute tour of the facility by a WHS librarian who will familiarize you with their print, digital, and online resources.  Lunch is on your own and venues are within walking distance.

To help you prepare for your trip, we encourage you to come out to hear WHS Docent and Researcher George Findlen who will be presenting  Exploring the Wisconsin Historical Society Library & Archive  at the Algonquin Area Public Library on Monday, June 13th at 7pm.  More information about the Wisconsin Historical Society & Archive in Madison is available at www.wisconsinhistory.org/genealogy.
