JOSEPH EMMS FAMILY

I am looking for information about the Joseph Emms family that is posted in the 1860, Woodstock Census. He lived there with his wife Caroline nee Wheeler, child James Emms and two children from Caroline's last husband, Ellen Dunning, Clara Dunning. On that 1860 census just below this family entry is what looks like a Thomas Welch with wife Polly and children George and Franklin. It appears that this family was living with the Emms family. I have been looking for Caroline's parents, who were Thomas Wheeler and Polly, born abt 1800. Does anyone know if this might be them, and the surname misspelled? I don't know where else to look to find information on Thomas C. Wheeler and wife Polly. They may have died and been buried in this area. The Emms family moved to Graham, Nodaway Co, MO. and are buried there. Any help would be great. Thanks
