Researching the SCHMITT family line—my gggggrandfather Fredrich SCHMITT b 1801 Trier GER m Anna Maria (-?-) and they came to the US in 1841, settled in the Chapel Hill area. Other names in this line are SCHAEFER, HAY, FREUND, BROWN, OTTIS, SCHUMACHER, HOLLENBACH, HEINZ.

Searching for my grandmother’s two bro who were Engineers on the railroad, Charles MUDWAY imm from ENG 1871, records show that he worked as a Fireman, Engineer and Loc. Engineer from 1879 to retirement after 1901. Died at age 94 in 1949. Francis/Frank MUDWAY/MEDWAY imm 1890, records show he worked as a Fireman and Loc. Engineer from 1891 to retirement after 1902. Death date unknown. Possibly worked on the C.M.St.P. & Pac. Would like any info on these two men.

Trying to locate a birth record for Margaret Ethels BLACK b 24 Mar 1874, dau of John BLACK of SCT and Elizabeth Jane CURRIE of IRL. They were traveling across the U.S. when Margaret was born. The best info we have is she was born in IL - poss Marengo. The fam was Presbyterian; are there church or baptism records available in that area?

James LAWSON apparently deserted his wife in 1869 [sic] and she subsequently r with a son in Grafton Twp, later r Waukeshaw WI. Would appreciate any info and will share what I have.

My ggrandparents-Carl & Sophie Baumann farmed in McHenry County. They immigrated in 1878, from Raddatz, Neustettin, Pommern (Germany) or Prussia.  My grandmother, Frieda Baumann, was 4 at the time and she had a brother, John, born Nov,1876 , also in Pommern. Carl was also known as Charles, born May 1845, Sophie born June 1838. My grandmother had a daughter, also named Frieda, born in Harvard on September 19, 1889. Any info on these people would be greatly appreciated. (1900 census shows them living in Chicago)

Researching the five STEINSDOEFER brothers from McHenry IL who served in WWII at the same time. Their par were George and Susan STEINSDOEFER. Alvin STEINSDOEFER died in 1947; Leonard STEINSDOEFER died in 1977. Trying to find my 2xgreat-grandmother’s Betsey Ann (WILKINSON) SIMMONS death certificate so hopefully I can find out about her birth date, location and par. She might have r with a married dau Alice C. and her husband William H. HUFMAN. The HUFMANs were m 1 Nov 1868 McHenry Co but I don’t know where they lived. Known info: Betsey Ann and Husband Borden W. SIMMONS were in Chemung per 1860 Federal Census; Borden W. SIMMONS d in and is bur in Chemung 1878; Betsey Ann SIMMONS was in Chemung in 1880 per Federal Census; HUFMAN relatives r Clinton IA in 1920s-30s per fam stories; Betsey’s other ch: William b 1843; Winfield b 1847; Frances Caroline b 1849 m 1873 Charles H. SINDERSON and moved from Chemung to Rockford in 1880.
